We invite you to a weekend Butoh dance workshop — HEALING TRANSFORMATIONS, which will take place 7–8.03.2026 in Warsaw.
Facilitator: Kokoro – Krzysztof Jerzak
Butoh dance can support stability, balance and the integration of the individual sense of “I”. With properly directed techniques and visualizations we can beneficially influence our inner environment.
By dancing we reach 'places' inaccessible to our intellect. In this way we bypass rational perception of inner processes and directly engage in experiencing and bodily expression of unconscious aspects of consciousness.
The workshop is aimed at both beginners and advanced participants interested in personal development and deepening and expanding body‑mind awareness. It will be useful for dancers, performers, actors, people training in martial arts, yoga, etc., as well as people interested in body-based therapy who seek authentic movement and mindful presence in the body in relation to others.
Note: This workshop should not be treated as therapy. It should be seen as support in an individual process of transformation and integration of consciousness.
It is a Japanese modern dance that emerged in the 1950s as a result of searching for new forms of expression. Based on deep connection with the body, it allows self-discovery through exploration and integration of emotions, dreams, archetypes, symbols and elements of nature. The dancer opens to deep insights that take them beyond familiar patterns of expression. Thus their movement is always fresh and unique, and the dance becomes a ritual, creative and liberating process that permeates unknown qualities of existence.
