Improvisational theatre, or improv, has an increasingly popular, very friendly, energetic, and humorous stage form. You will experience such positive moments and emotions at these workshops. Improv is also a great method for actor training — originally intended for work with actors. Returning to the roots and carefully chosen exercises and games will allow us to master the principles of ad hoc acting. The main goal of the workshop is to raise key skills such as spontaneity, effective collaboration with a partner, quick character creation, and the art of storytelling. These abilities are invaluable on stage and beyond. The workshop leader, Arek Ziętek, has used this method in work with actors and others for over a quarter of a century. He learned it from many masters and frequently assisted Keith Johnstone, one of the main creators of theatrical improvisation. “Learning through play” is the best description of the improvisation methodology. A helpful piece of advice to get into a creative and stress-free mood is: “Be willing, but not prepared.”
