We invite you to another exceptional evening with literature! Wonderful Polish authors will read excerpts from their yet unpublished works. Joining us will be: - Mira Marcinów - Paweł Sołtys - Agata Romaniuk - Weronika Murek The event will be hosted by Łukasz Zych from Najlepsza Księgarnia, which is a co-organizer of the meeting. 📖 Additionally, we will give you a one-of-a-kind opportunity to read excerpts of your own work! We strongly encourage this, with about 5 minutes allocated per person. 📚 If we have enough time, we will also propose reading a few exceptional literary texts from recent months. --- 👩🎓 Mira Marcinów – studied at the Interdisciplinary Individual Studies in the Humanities at Jagiellonian University, where she defended her PhD in psychology. She works at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. She has published in “Znak,” “Tygodnik Powszechny,” and the French poetry magazine “Orpheus.” Finalist of the “Polityka” Science Award (2019) and laureate of the Prime Minister’s Award (2015). She has published books: Madness as a Choice (2012), The Unhealed Wound of Narcissus (2018, with Bartłomiej Dobroczyński), and The History of Polish Madness (2018), for which she was nominated for the Poznań Literary Award. For her prose debut Bezmatek, she received the Polityka Passport, as well as nominations for the Nike Literary Award, Empik Discovery Award, Conrad Award, and O!Lśnienia Award. The book has been translated into English, Serbian, Czech, and Macedonian. 🎵 Paweł Sołtys – musician, songwriter. As Pablopavo, he has released several albums and played around a thousand concerts. He studied Russian studies but did not complete them. His short stories have appeared in “Lampa,” “Rita Baum,” and “Studium.” For his prose debut Mikrotyki, he received the Marek Nowakowski Literary Award, the Gdynia Literary Award, was a finalist for the Nike Literary Award, and was nominated for the Polityka Passport, the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award, and the Witold Gombrowicz Literary Award. For his second book Nieradość, he received a nomination for the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award and was among the nominees for the Julian Tuwim Literary Award for lifetime achievement. In 2024, his third prose book Sierpień was published, for which he received a nomination for the Warsaw Literary Award and reached the finals of the Nike Literary Award. 📚 Agata Romaniuk – author of the bestselling children's crime series about Kocia Szajka. Proste równoległe (Agora) is her novel debut. Her new novel will be published this fall by W.AB. Sociologist with a PhD from the Polish Academy of Sciences. Graduate of the Polish School of Reportage. In 2017, she initiated the research-reporting project Światła Małego Miasta, which described the lives of Poles in the smallest towns. She publishes texts in Duży Format, Przekrój, Pismo, and the magazine Non/Fiction. In May 2019, her reportage book “Z miłości? To współczuję. Opowieści z Omanu” was published, followed by “Krótko i szczęśliwie. Historie późnych miłości” in 2022, and “Najgorsze randki świata. I kilka udanych” in December 2024. 📖 Weronika Murek – prose writer and playwright, graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Silesia. For her book Uprawa roślin południowych metodą Miczurina, she was nominated in 2015 for the Polityka Passport in the literature category, and in 2016 for the Nike Literary Award and the Gdynia Literary Award. In 2016, she received the Witold Gombrowicz Literary Award for this book. Her theatrical work was also recognized early on. In 2015, she won the Gdynia Dramaturgy Award for her play Feinweinblein, and four years later, her collection of plays under the same title was again nominated for the Polityka Passport. For her third book, Dziewczynki. Kilka esejów o stawaniu się, she received a nomination for the Gdynia Literary Award.
