
I invite you to a 2-day somatic workshop in Warsaw, where we will improve our mobility and learn to take care of our own health and well-being. Most lessons will focus on relaxing the back and using abdominal muscles. In a warm, cozy room in the city center. HOW? These are movement classes where I will explain what position to take and what movement to perform. Each participant will do the movement only as much as is easy for them, without physical effort and without pain, within their own current abilities and comfort. Participants will look for the easiest and simplest way themselves, without comparing to others and without imitating. I will suggest what to pay attention to and offer variant options worth trying. Participants will explore and experience different options to choose the best one for themselves. No one will judge anyone. There will be breaks between movements to rest and calmly process the last experiences. Each class, through a specific sequence of positions and movements, leads to the improvement of a skill, e.g. standing up, reaching, turning, or walking, which we have the opportunity to experience during and immediately after the class. The direct result includes a greater range of free movement, better posture, easier movement and breathing. During the workshop, we will do about eight such classes. There will be breaks between them, and after the breaks, time for comments, questions, and answers to better understand what we are doing and why. In this way, we work as a group that learns together and draws from the individual experiences of participants. Each class can then be done at home. Thus, the workshop is an introduction to independent, regular practice. CLASS SCHEDULE (preliminary): Saturday: - Relaxing the head and neck - How to relax muscles with eye movement - Subtle leg lifting - Catching a fly Sunday: - How to use abdominal muscles - Elbow under the knee, or easily difficult part 1 - Elbow under the knee part 2 - Surprise BENEFITS: - Relaxed muscles and relief – movement is gentle, unhurried, without ambition and without competing with others. - Rest – we perform small movements, avoid effort, but at the same time focus on the movement and forget about other matters – “clear mind.” - Focus and calm – during the class, we concentrate on the movement to find the easiest way. We develop the ability to keep attention on one topic. - Better coordination and fitness – we learn to move differently than usual, change habits, improve movement organization, increase body awareness and movement intelligence. - Pleasure – soft, effortless movement is full of pleasant sensations, we feel better and in a better mood. - Developed learning abilities and adaptation to changing and uncertain situations. FOR WHOM: Somatics is a method for anyone who wants to move better, develop, or recover, regardless of age or physical condition. Classes are conducted without imitation, comparison to others, or critical judgment. Everyone performs movements independently, at their own pace, gently, paying attention to themselves, their own feelings, and current abilities. You can stop, take a break, and rest at any time. I recommend the event to people of all ages, including seniors and those experiencing pain. The classes are also a proposal for athletes, yogis, actors, dancers, physiotherapists, and all those who work with the body professionally or as a hobby.
