Dangerous places in old Warsaw included some alleys of the Old and New Towns as well as Mariensztat, where bandits lurked. At the beginning of the 20th century, men would go out in the evenings with knotted sticks, of course for their own safety. 📅 We meet on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Senatorska Street 38. The walk is planned to last about 1.5 hours. During the walk, we will learn, among other things: - Can a president be robbed? - How were pre-war dealers described? - Where could cocaine be bought before the war? - Where was the school that taught theft? - Where was the prison where parties lasted until dawn? - Which woman killed her lover because he did not meet her expectations in bed? - Who convened the first investigative commission? - Who were the doliniarze, lipkarze, and pajęczarze? - Where was the last King of Poland kidnapped? - Who was the king of Warsaw thieves? - Who collected women's heads? - Who, after ransacking an apartment, shot a policeman? - Who and for how much sold the Sigismund Column? - Where were rubies and diamonds hidden? - Who did the criminal world organize a lavish funeral for? And many more... Participation in the walk is free of charge, but if you feel the guide deserves a tip, it is appreciated. The walk will be led by a city guide from Warszawski Zaułek. You are warmly invited, and see you there.
