The “Hero's Journey” self-experience workshop is an experience of one's own birth, aimed mainly at professionals who work daily with pregnant women, newborns, and infants, but also open to anyone interested.
Its goal is a mindful recognition and processing of our personal birth experience, which expands our capacity to contain and understand our patients.
Experiencing birth helps identify our personal material that patients trigger and that may negatively affect our work.
Combining psychodynamic understanding with body-based work allows fuller processing of this area.
From the experience of birth we can draw enormous strength for life, but we can also feel stuckness, difficulty finding our own path to achieving goals, and other experiences that affect how we live and function.
