About the event

A meeting for preschool-aged children.

Performers:

  • Magdalena Este – host, piano, vocals
  • Michał Zaborski – viola

According to mythology, the inventor of string instruments was Mercury, and of the violin – Orpheus. Sappho invented a bow strung with horsehair. String instruments are most often found in classical music, but even in Poland we have a great heritage of jazz violinists: Michał Urbaniak, Zbigniew Seifert, Adam Bałdych, Atom String Quartet and others.

Magdalena Este is a singer, pianist, composer and voice coach. She values music’s extraordinary ability to bring people together and likes to share her passion and love of music with others. Her biggest success in education is heading the vocal department at Vijaybhoomi University in India. She also has experience working with children, in the form of music workshops and theatrical performances for children. She has also led music education classes in kindergartens and primary schools.

Michał Zaborski – composer and violist of the repeatedly Fryderyk-awarded group Atom String Quartet – the first string quartet in Poland performing original jazz music. As a member of Atom String Quartet he has performed with artists such as Urszula Dudziak, Kayah, Natalia Kukulska, Bobby McFerrin, Branford Marsalis and Adam Sztaba. A recording of a concert at the Berlin Philharmonie was released by the German label ACT Music, where the group performed together with Leszek Możdżer, Lars Danielsson and Zohar Fresco. He is the leader of the Michał Zaborski Quartet, with which he recorded the album "Feeling Earth".
