Intimate post-screening discussion with film critic about modern love.
The Worst Person in the World is a Norwegian contemporary romantic drama directed by Joachim Trier. It tells the story of Julie — a young woman from Oslo who tries to find herself in work, love and adult life. The film follows her relationships, doubts and decisions, showing the emotional conflict between the need for freedom and the desire for closeness.
This is an intimate and honest portrait of the contemporary generation of thirty-somethings — people full of ambition but also fears and uncertainties. The production mixes humor with melancholy, impresses with the naturalness of the dialogues and the authenticity of the characters. Renate Reinsve’s performance earned her the acting prize at the Cannes Film Festival, and the film itself received international recognition for its sensitivity and fresh perspective on love and identity.
The meeting and discussion after the screening will be led by Maria Dutkiewicz, recipient of the Krzysztof Mętrak Prize and the Jagoda Murczyńska Prize.
