Every month we invite you to a screening of an outstanding festival film from around the world.
After the screening there is an informal conversation with the audience: without an academic tone, with humor, curiosity and a desire to discover cinema together.
🎬
Next meeting in the series:
“The Sentimental Value” — dir. Joachim Trier / 2025 / 2h15min
About the film:
The lives of two sisters are disrupted by their long-absent father, who has a proposal for them. Sisters Agnes and Nora meet their formerly absent father, the charismatic, once-famous film director Gustav. He offers Nora, a theatre actress, a role in his newest film — meant to be his return to cinema. When Nora rejects the offer, Gustav hires a young Hollywood star. The sisters must confront both their complicated relationship with their father and the influence of the American star on their family dynamics.
Before the screening the hosts prepare an approximately ten-minute introduction — a short preface that will help better understand the film’s context and enrich its reception.
After the projection, Irena and Wiktor, in the spirit of the old Film Discussion Clubs, will invite the audience to talk. The microphone then becomes available to everyone who wishes — share impressions, ask questions and discover what the film says about people, emotions and life. If you prefer just to listen — that’s fine too.
Safe shopping with official distributors
The purchase of an ad ticket is made on the website of the official ticket distributor. Keep in mind that if the seats are numbered, and the tickets are disputed by several companies, then each of them provides a different pool of seats to choose from
