📅 Let's Read About Neurodiversity – Where to Start? 📅 September 10 (Wednesday), 5:00 PM–7:00 PM 📍 Otwarta Kolonia, ul. Górczewska 15 Free admission, registration: [email protected] Are you interested in the topic of neurodiversity? Do you have neuroatypical individuals in your surroundings, or perhaps you are diagnosed or in the process of diagnosis? We invite you to a series of literary meetings focused on neurodiversity. During the events, we will read excerpts from selected books, discuss them, ask questions, and share insights. Each event will feature two self-advocates who will share their knowledge and experiences. They will be selected to ensure the topics discussed during the meetings are close to them. The book excerpts read during the events will be chosen by the self-advocates. The books will later be made available to participants who do not have access to them (in paper or electronic form). The meetings will last 2 hours. They will begin with a brief introduction to the topic. Then, several excerpts from books relevant to the meeting's theme will be read. The rest of the event will be dedicated to discussions around the meeting's topic. We anticipate sharing experiences from both the self-advocates and the participants. Preliminary event schedule: - September 10 — Introduction - September 24 — Autigender and Neuroqueer - October 15 — ADHD - November 5 — Autism Spectrum in Women - November 19 — Difficult Topics (violence, harmful therapies, fighting the system, etc.) - December 10 — Passions and Relationships The event's partner is the Association of Atypical Self-Advocates "Spectrum Aureum." The event will be hosted by actress Dorota Porowska, who will also read excerpts from the books. During the workshops, we will strive to provide comfortable conditions for participants – noise-canceling headphones will be available, and a relaxation space will be prepared. The meeting is part of the "Open WCK vol. 2" project. The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund – a state special-purpose fund. 📌 Event Accessibility: 📍 Location: Otwarta Kolonia, ul.
