📅 September 14, 2025 (Sun.) 2:00 PM–4:00 PM 📍 Reading Room of Words and Sounds ELEKTRA Free admission Accessibility upon request – please contact the MIK accessibility coordinator: [email protected], tel./sms: 601 669 440 This summer, we meet again for shared reading as part of the Orbita Literacka Reading Party at Elektra. We invite everyone who loves books! Reading party is a series of guest reading events aimed at making it easier for people to meet through shared reading. The concept originated in the apartment of one of four friends (Ben Bradbury, Charlotte Jackson, John Lifrieri, and Tom Worcester) in New York. It was immediately noticed and appreciated. In America, reading parties are extremely popular. They are held cyclically in various locations (on tenement rooftops, in parks, cozy cafes) at the most unusual times. Tickets sell out in an instant, and the waiting lists are endless. As part of the Orbita Literacka Reading Party, we settle into the cozy space of Elektra together with Jagoda Gawliczek (host of the Orbita Literacka podcast on Radio Kapitał) and a cup of freshly brewed coffee or tea to immerse ourselves in our readings. You can bring your own book or use the collections available on-site – the choice is yours. We read silently, while listening to music from the rich record library, which is an integral part of the reading room. In this community of literature lovers, everyone is welcome. Jagoda Gawliczek (@ohsotychonic) – hosts the show/podcast Orbita Literacka, where she meets people who share her love for reading. New episodes premiere on Fridays on Radio Kapitał, and the next day they are available on streaming platforms (Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts). On a daily basis, Jagoda works at Going., where she is the leader of the creative department and editor of the magazine "Going. MORE." Her texts – dedicated to various forms of culture – have also been published in "Wizje," "Vogue," "Dwutygodnik," "Grls ROOM," and "Szajn." 📌 ACCESSIBILITY Let us know what you need in advance so we can prepare: - PJM translation (7–14 days before the event) - Induction loop (3 days before the event) - Assistant for visually impaired individuals (3 days before the event) - Noise-canceling headphones (a few days before the event) - Quiet Zone (directly before the event) - Bowl for your pet (directly before the event) Need other tools?
