    Über die Veranstaltung

Podgląd celebrates its eighteenth birthday. The summer edition is handed over to two participants of the portfolio review and a lecturer of this year's Artist–Professional (A–Z) program. 🎉 Podgląd unveiling: July 15 at 5:00 PM and will last until September 7. On the unveiling day, we invite you for coffee and lemonade with the artists and curator. Podgląd is located in the window of the Plac Unii building, on the Waryńskiego Street side in Warsaw. “Anna Sztwiertnia and Konrad Gubała are connected by their Krakow biography and work with metal. However, the techniques and themes explored by the artists differ radically. In Anna Sztwiertnia's work, inspired by industrial aesthetics and design, nostalgia for the harmony of body, spirit, and nature shines through. The installation, based on the shape of a hydropressor, pumps water under pressure, evoking associations with therapeutic healing treatments. For Konrad Gubała, reclaimed metal plates become carriers of personal stories, a fate hanging over a man who already knows that his life is doomed to failure from the start. Yet he smiles, because what else is left for him.” – curator Gabi Skrzypczak. Creators of Podgląd: - Anna Sztwiertnia (b. 1993) – visual artist and designer. Graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. In 2017, she studied Intermedia at Universidade do Porto in Portugal. She works across various media – from installations to video and objects – allowing the subject she is currently exploring to dictate the choice of means. She is interested in phenomena related to spirituality, alternative medicine, and sanatorium culture. She builds her own interpretations of rituals based on the emotional engagement of the audience. Her works have been presented at Bunkier Sztuki, Rondo Sztuki, Galeria Labirynt, Fundacja Razem Pamoja, Galeria Promocyjna, POLIN Museum, BGSW Słupsk, Miejsce Spotkań, and the Silesian Museum. She is the author of three solo exhibitions in Krakow: Sanctuary at Bunkier Sztuki (2019), Spa at Hotel Forum (2018), Reflection at Galeria ARISTOI (2017). - Konrad Gubała (b. 1999) – visual artist. Graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. He creates installations, sculptures, and videos. He is interested in personal themes, particularly those related to his own background and experiences of precarity. In his work, he confronts these themes using black humor and irony, which become tools of artistic escapism. He describes himself as a celebrator of failures, making setbacks a starting point for reflection and creative intervention. His works have been presented at Galeria Łęctwo, Galeria Labirynt, Galeria Jak Zapomnieć, C U AT Sadka, and Galeria Miejska Arsenał. He participated in the Rozbieg 2.0 program and received a special award at Warsaw Gallery Weekend 2024 for his exhibition Near Dark 2 at Galeria Łęctwo. - Gabi Skrzypczak she/her (b. 1997) – Poznań-based art theorist and curator. Graduate of Art History (IHS UAM) and Curatorship and Art Theory (UAP). Co-founder of the culinary-artistic initiative TostMarcin. Creator of exhibitions, artistic events, and zines. She has collaborated with institutions such as Galeria Miejska Arsenał in Poznań, Foksal Gallery, Salon Akademii, Tarasin Gallery, Dom Remont, OS17. She is associated with Poznań's Galeria Łęctwo. Author of texts on art, published in Magazyn SZUM, MSN Warsaw, BWA Bydgoszcz, BWA Warszawa, and the Miej Miejsce portal. Winner of the 7th edition of the curator competition at the Jan Tarasin Art Gallery in Kalisz. Finalist of the Best Diplomas UAP competition (2023), and recipient of the Poznań City Scholarship (2024). Her academic interests focus on Central and Eastern European art and the intersectional aspects of feminist and queer theory. Galeria Podgląd is a space dedicated to art. Open and accessible 24/7. We showcase works from the collection that are usually located in the offices of ING Bank Śląski, as well as artistic projects created specifically for the gallery space.
