This year's edition is the sixth in a row. Over the past years, the Polish craftsmanship scene has significantly evolved, matured, new galleries have emerged, and the term "collectible design" has firmly established itself in our language. The discussion about collectible design, of which artistic craftsmanship is an integral part, however, shows the perspective of the audience – the collector, patron, user. This perspective naturally focuses on the appearance of the object: its visual appeal, usability, or investment value. During this year's exhibition New Moon in Full, we want to broaden this perspective and focus on what lies beyond the physical attractiveness of a crafted object. Objects are created not only in response to market needs but also as a result of self-expression, engagement with materials, the need to tell a personal story, record impressions or emotions, and the sensual experience of creating with hands. Presented in this context, the works of new craftsmanship are closer to art objects than utility items, and the exhibition New Moon in Full is an invitation to view craftsmanship not as a collection of objects but as a record of thought and action. This is an exhibition about dialogue with materials and heritage, about craftsmanship as a space for expression and collaboration. The second exhibition, COOPERATIONS, presents the results of a project carried out by six craft duos from the Association New Craftsmanship. Its premise is the meeting of creators working in different techniques: wood and metal, wood and glass, ceramics and textiles, paper and textiles. Typically, artistic craftsmanship objects are created in one material, in which the creator specializes. If a combination of different materials appears, it is usually hierarchical – one material dominates, the other complements. In such cases, one creator becomes the leader, the other a subcontractor. In the COOPERATIONS project, we utilize the unique potential of the Association, which is the meeting of creators with different specializations and the opportunity to open a space for true dialogue. Here, craftsmen remain equal to each other, and materials – instead of competing – engage in conversation. Collaborative work becomes an exploration of the possibilities and limitations of techniques, an attempt to combine them, and a clash of visions that leads to the creation of a new quality – visually intriguing, engaging haptically. The result is specific objects, but also something less tangible: deeper mutual understanding, crossing boundaries, and opening new creative paths that will bear fruit in future projects. The works in the COOPERATIONS exhibition were created thanks to funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the Creative Industries Development Center's own program: Development of Creative Sectors.
