We invite you to an intimate meeting where we will talk about Grochów — as it was, as it exists in our minds, and as it will be recorded in our shared memory. Together with author and varsavianist Mateusz Kaczyński, we will explore Grochów through archival photos and stories. This won't be an academic lecture, but rather a seated walk — a shared viewing of the past and discussion about what seems ordinary but is increasingly disappearing today. 📍 Dom Sztuki, Sztuki 17 📅 September 11, Thursday, 6:00 PM–8:00 PM Mateusz Kaczyński — author of the guidebook "A Walk Around Warsaw" (published by SBM). This year, the second edition of the book was released. It's the perfect opportunity to delve into the nooks and crannies of the author's beloved district at the end of summer. --- ARCHIVAL DUTY The meeting is part of the "From Grochów's Social Archive" series. We encourage you to actively contribute to this grassroots collection about the history of our district. If you have photographs of courtyards, blocks, streets, people, schools, kindergartens, bazaars, school or family celebrations (and many others) taken before 2005, be sure to bring them along — there will be an opportunity to scan them, allowing them to become part of our shared history. You can also upload photos yourself via the website: https://grochowskie.org --- The event is part of the Open Days of Local Activity Centers, which take place from September 5 to 14, 2025. It's a celebration of neighborhood activities, initiatives, and locally created meetings.
