We invite you for a walk that will take us back to the interwar years, full of fashionable venues, intimate cinemas, smelling of coffee, pastries, and cigarette smoke from cafes.
We will walk through the streets of the city center and learn what old Warsaw was like.
On our way, we will encounter places and tell stories about the people who created the amazing atmosphere of Warsaw in the 1920s and 1930s.
During the walk, we will answer, among other questions:
- Who was Gruby Josek?
- Why was the monument to the 'scandalous warrior' erected in Małachowski Square?
- What did the president see before the shots were fired?
- Why sometimes you have to return home in three carriages?
- Who could receive an invitation to the most famous table in Warsaw?
- Who and when demanded the demolition of the Prudential skyscraper?
- Is it possible to ride a horse into the Adrii?
- When did the 'twenties' begin?
- Can a salad seller be called a cab driver?
- What was the Marshal afraid of?
- Who was afraid of the Marshal?
- Is drinking coffee an addiction?
We start the walk on January 19 at 11:00 AM at Grzybowski Square at the end of Próżna Street.
We will finish 1.5 hours later near Szpitalna Street.
The walk will be led by historian and licensed Warsaw guide, Adrian Sobieszczański.
