Feldenkrais Workshop: Chest, shoulder girdle, and feet. Body awareness through movement. This two-day workshop will include 8-9 ATM (Awareness Through Movement ®) lessons of varying difficulty, from easy to more complex. The next workshop will be dedicated to the relationship between the chest, spine, shoulder blades, shoulders, and feet. We will explore the area of the chest, including ribs, sternum, collarbones, shoulder blades, and their non-obvious connection to the feet. We will also address breathing and the vocal apparatus. You can expect lessons such as: - Rocking with feet and arms, rolling with the chest; teeter-totter, introduction to backward rolling; lifting the head, arms, and legs while lying on the stomach; shoulder blades and arms in standing and lying on the back position, grip for the big toe and rotation of the pelvis and chest; feeling that the chest is suspended, varying mobility in the shoulder joint and integrating the movement of the entire skeleton starting from the arm; mobility and differentiation of the shoulder blades, awareness and differentiation of the toes, crab, bug-rolling, Feldenkrais yoga, etc.
The Feldenkrais® Method offers a unique and practical way to make fuller use of our potential. It is an educational method focused on learning how our body functions and conscious movement, which can lead to improved psychomotor efficiency and better functional integration.
The name comes from its creator, Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984), an engineer and physicist as well as a judo teacher. The Feldenkrais Method is one of the most well-known methods of somatic education. This method has been used for several decades by musicians, athletes, dancers, actors, yoga practitioners, Pilates enthusiasts, and anyone involved in personal development. During the workshop, we will immerse ourselves in the practice of the Feldenkrais Method. Participants will learn 8-9 lessons of the Feldenkrais Method covering diverse psychomotor patterns in the mentioned areas. It will also be a return to childhood times when creativity, openness, and joy in discovering our body were part of each of us. We will try to connect the sixth sense with body memory and thought and conscious action; we will not forget about breathing. Finally, we will address daily functions such as rolling, sitting, standing, and walking, which are the beginning of all movement activities and, as it turns out, can also be an area of research and discovery. Each workshop is conceived as a certain process.
