In the sewing workshop, we will sew simple gathered skirts at the waist. Our outfits will be made from natural fabrics printed with motifs drawn from the works of Stanisław Wyspiański.
We invite adults who know the basics of using a sewing machine or hand sewing to participate in the classes. The ticket price includes all necessary materials and accessories.
'Sew Yourself in the Łazienki' is a sewing class held at the Royal Łazienki Museum since 2020. Its idea is to teach sewing simple items inspired by seasonal activities and temporary exhibitions. We work in a zero waste spirit, using scraps, giving a second life to fabrics. We also have textiles printed with patterns drawn from the nature and art of the Łazienki.
Conducted by:
Ewa Zagawa - a graduate of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Faculty of Animal Sciences. A city and museum guide. Conducting workshops in handicrafts, historical-culinary, and nature-ecological topics. She has been working in the Education Department of the Royal Łazienki Museum since 2017 as an education specialist and coordinator of the Ecological Education Center in the New Palm House.
Jolanta Żubrowska - art historian, coordinator of educational and social projects. A lover of handicrafts, repairing things, and giving textiles a second life. In her spare time, she sews clothes and accessories and seeks inspiration from ancient art for contemporary projects.
