The idea for the performance arose as a protest against violence, in response to prolonged stress and fear, and an attempt to overcome the sense of guilt that, consciously or unconsciously, accompanies Belarusians today.

The performance leads through the experience of being detained in Belarus, the physical passage through lawlessness, illegality, and outrage that tens of thousands of civilians have gone through - violence that continues to this day.

The performer creates a relatively direct communication with the audience: identifying with the detained, simulates a situation of bodily experience akin to torture. An anonymous victim, who was previously just a news item, through physical experience ceases to be information, becoming a living human being.

We sought a way to express the horror of the events that have befallen us, to talk about numbness, fear, and at the same time contempt for violence, about the sense of guilt for the mass emigration of Belarusians and our own. How can we support the protest as artists? This performance provides an answer: it is important to remain active, aware, not indifferent or absent - the creators of the performance.

375 0908 2334:

375 – the telephone code of the Republic of Belarus

0908 is the date of the presidential elections that were falsified by the authorities. The frustration and dissatisfaction with the election results resulted in a revolutionary protest movement that continues to this day.

2334 is the article number of the Administrative Code 'Violation of the procedure for organizing or conducting mass events,' based on which over 40 thousand Belarusians have been sentenced since August 2020.

The project was also created to raise financial aid for victims of violence and repression in Belarus to a charitable account at the HUMANOS Foundation.
