This is already a few last chances to participate in the guided tour of the temporary exhibition 'The Unreal World, Yet Knowable. Paintings by Magdalena Shummer.'

The artist defines her style as poetic realism. However, her works are not only poetic but almost magical. Magdalena Shummer's paintings are characterized by an extraordinary attention to detail, visible primarily in the small elements of fanciful plants or the details of interiors that serve as backgrounds for portraits and genre scenes. Animals are always present in the artist's paintings – not only beloved cats, dogs, and farm animals, but also wild ones usually placed in natural settings. These animals are always the most important subject in the artist's painting, even if they are in the background and seem to merely accompany people.
