I invite you to a 🍁autumn walk in Saska Kępa - a green island in the center of Warsaw. We will stroll through the charming streets of Kępa, explore places with extraordinary history, and pause in front of pre-war villas immersed in ancient trees to uncover the secrets hidden behind beautiful facades.
During the walk, we will learn, among other things:
# why Saska Kępa was called Holland
# where the Ice Warrior lived
# who drilled a hole in the stomach of party members
# who wrote 'nobleman' in the 'profession' column
# who defeated Melchior Wańkowicz
# where the gate to freedom was
# who has a monument in Geneva
# whose mother was a lady-in-waiting at the imperial court
# where the ship is
# who pretended to be a sanitation officer
# who drank with master Picasso
# how to best photograph a fish
# what was done at night on Zakopiańska
and many other colorful stories about people and places related to Saska Kępa
Start: 17.11. (Sunday), 12 PM, ul. Francuska 49 (by Washington Roundabout)
End: Zwycięzców 7/9 (Bolesław Prus High School)
The walk will be led by KASIA - a blogger and licensed Warsaw guide
