I invite you to take a walk through the alleys of the overlooked New Town district. During the walk, we will hear stories not necessarily known to everyone.
We meet on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 4:00 PM at the corner of Podwale and Nowomiejska streets (by the Barbican). The walk is expected to last about 90 minutes.
During the walk, we will learn, among other things:
Where was the first hospital in Warsaw?
Where did it disappear from the New Town when the police took over under Klegles?
What does the Church of the Holy Spirit have in common with Częstochowa?
Where could you buy wine by the glass?
Who was Bonaventura?
Where can you see the coat of arms of the New Town?
Where was the factory of famous knives located?
Where is one of the oldest churches in Warsaw?
Where is the shortest street in Poland?
Where is the smallest building in Warsaw with its own mortgage?
Which street was said to be full of brothels?
Where did prostitutes gather once a week from all over the city for medical examinations?
And many more...
There is no fee for participating in the walk; however, if you feel that the guide deserves a tip (...)
The walk will be led by a city guide from Warsaw's Alley. I warmly invite you and see you there. 😉
