It will all start with a meeting with three special guests representing the world of science, design, and art. Designer Karol Murlak will present the process of creating hydrogel from seaweed, Prof. Urszula Stachewicz will introduce nanofibers inspired by the structure of polar bear hair and penguin feathers, and artist Julia Lohmann will talk about marine organisms that are her muse.
𝗘𝗫𝗛𝗜𝗕𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦
We have prepared not one, but several exhibitions. This will allow you to look at sustainable design and material innovations from a broad perspective. You will see materials made from mushrooms, algae, soil, eggshells, salt, tree roots, and human hair. There will be projects by young Polish creators, works by experienced designers and artists. The exhibitions will also feature experimental stations that allow you to learn about the structure of polymers, the properties of bioplastics, and the principles of nanotechnology.
𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗘𝗟𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗦
Experts dealing with materials used in medicine, industry, and fashion have been invited to the panel discussions. You will see a material that cannot be cut and a fireproof and radiation-resistant metal alloy. You will discuss living medicines and innovative methods of their delivery, as well as the circular economy.
𝗗𝗘𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦
During the festival debates, one cannot remain neutral. Their format requires taking a stand 'for' or 'against.' You will have to decide whether you prefer single-use items or durable products, and whether certain materials sourced from the soil can be considered taboo.
𝗖𝗬𝗖𝗟𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧
The discussion in the World Café format is a new proposal of Przemiany. Participants rotate between different subgroups and topics, ensuring a quick exchange of views. The conversations will focus on sustainable development and the circular economy.
