The Grand Róbrege Róbczad Festival is the oldest independent music festival in Warsaw.
For 41 years, it has been dedicated to unconventional creativity, straddling the genres of reggae, punk, jazz, rap, and alternative.
Its founders, in 1983, were Sławomir Rogowski and the late Robert Brylewski and Paweł Kelner Rozwadowski.
Artists associated with the event since the 1980s still belong to the Polish music elite. These include: Kayah, Muniek Staszczyk, Kazik, Tomek Lipiński, Tomek Budzyński, and Darek Malejonek. Some of them made their debut at the Róbrege Festival, which gained international status thanks to concerts by Twinkle Brothers, Kortatu, Misty in Roots, Killing Joke, and many other foreign stars.
Róbrege, along with the festivals in Jarocin and Fama, played a key role in the development of alternative music. The festival continues to support and promote young Polish creators of the independent scene, such as: Waluś Kraksa Kryzys, Damian Syjonfam, The Pau, Natural Mystic, Kasia Malejonek, Panda Dread, Swayzee, and many others.
