Are you looking for motivation to move? Do you love music? When you hear drums, do you feel the call to dance? Do you want to work on your physical fitness? Do you enjoy expressive movement? Are you drawn to traditional cultures? Do you want to develop your coordination? Do you need stimulation and endorphins? Do you want to build your energy resources?
Then we have classes for YOU!
We invite you to regular classes of traditional West African dance with Anika Kamińska.
These will be meetings with an incredibly energetic dance, full of unrestrained expression and joy; a solid dose of endorphins and African sunshine.
We work in a friendly atmosphere, giving each other good energy. No competition or sideways glances.
The workshops are open to complete beginners as well as more experienced individuals. In Africa, everyone dances, young and old, regardless of gender and age, because African rhythms compel you to dance! African dance is a communal celebration of life and an exchange of energy that binds the community, pure fun and joy.
Many steps in this dance were born from imitating everyday life activities or the desire to emphasize the qualities and characteristics of the dancing gender, such as the strength of men, agility, speed, and jumping ability of young girls, the sex appeal and delicacy of young women, or the dignity and elegance of older women. Learning this dance is also learning about folklore and African rhythms. The energy and joy flowing from unrestrained movements danced to the beat of trance drum music have made this dance increasingly popular in Europe and around the world. For several years now, it has been danced not only by the indigenous people of Africa but also by dancers and choreographers wanting to reach the roots of dance.
Bring comfortable, non-restrictive clothing and water to the classes. We dance barefoot.

The classes will be led by
Anika Kamińska – she will lead you in African dance. Her attributes are joy, seizing life with both hands, an indomitable young spirit, as well as understanding and patience. By education, she is an archaeologist specializing in underwater archaeology, a travel enthusiast, and a lover of traditional cultures. Above all, however, she is a musician and dancer of traditional dance from West Africa. She specializes in playing ethnic percussion instruments from various parts of the world. Years ago, while learning to play the drums, she encountered African dance, which fascinated her at first sight, and she continues to develop in this field. She approaches rhythm and dance as an inseparable whole, understanding the relationship between these two fields, which she conveys and inspires in her workshops. Her passion for drums and dance is the main motivation for her travels to Africa and Cuba. She learned African dance in Mali and Burkina Faso from outstanding masters of African ballets and from well-known dancers living in Europe. Anika is involved in promoting West African culture. She is a co-organizer of the Around The Rhythm Festival and conducts workshops at many festivals throughout Poland and abroad. She is the founder and musician in the bands Moribaya and Madrugada, and teaches drumming at Ankata! School of World Rhythms. Since 2023, she has also been performing as a DJ under the name ANIKA. She is active as a studio musician. She also engages in handicrafts, making feather earrings under the pseudonym Piórja, and dances with combat fans, silk fans, and LED light.
