We invite you to a unique event for teachers of Polish language, history, and social studies.
Thinking Class is a teaching method created by Dr. Peter Liljedahl – a recognized Canadian expert, professor at the Department of Mathematics at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. It includes 14 simple practices that can revolutionarily change the classroom reality. The method is gaining increasing popularity in Poland.
The workshops are aimed at teachers from primary and secondary schools who have not previously encountered the Thinking Class. They have a hybrid format and consist of two meetings: in-person at the headquarters of the School of Education (Warsaw, ul. Banacha 2c, UW Ochota Campus) and online on the Meet platform. To obtain a certificate, participation in both meetings is required.
Meeting dates:
Thinking Class for Polish language teachers: 18.09 and 7.11, information and registration: https://sklep.szkolaedukacji.pl/.../myslaca-klasa-dla.../
Thinking Class for historians: 18.09 and 6.11, information and registration: https://sklep.szkolaedukacji.pl/.../myslaca-klasa-dla.../
The School of Education has been collaborating with Dr. Liljedahl for years and conducts workshops that introduce Polish teachers to this way of working. In 2023, we published the Polish translation of the book 'Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics Lessons' – it is available for free to participants of the workshops and courses at the School of Education.
