ROLLERCOASTER to program prezentacji tańca współczesnego, realizowany przez Cricotekę i Krakowski Teatr Tańca. Osiem lat ROLLERCOASTERA to ponad 100 wydarzeń oraz kilkutysięczna publiczność. Hasło tegorocznej edycji - „Głośniej!" - podkreśla społeczną i polityczną siłę choreografii.

Stwierdzenie „kocham balet" jest wręcz anegdotyczne w środowisku tancerzy. Takie zdanie często pada z ust uczniów szkoły baletowej, kiedy zostaną zapytani o to, dlaczego zdecydowali się na edukację baletową, a czują na sobie opresyjne spojrzenie nauczycielki od baletu.
Cztery tancerki i niezależne artystki tańca, które ukończyły szkołę baletową, lecz porzuciły balet na rzecz innych form tanecznych, przyglądają się baletowi na nowo. Zauważają, co je dalej przyciąga w tej dyscyplinie, co je odrzuca, jakie widzą ślady swojej edukacji baletowej w obecnym ciele i życiu. Po 20 latach od zakończenia przygody z baletem Aleksandra Borys, Karolina Kraczkowska, Ramona Nagabczyńska i Iza Szostak osiągają krytyczny dystans potrzebny do tego, żeby dostrzec „tekst" baletu. A jak się okazuje „tekst" ten jest bardzo bogaty. Zarówno wyrażane explicite libretta baletowe, jak i ukryte za kulisami narracje można bez końca analizować jako machiny ideologiczne.

The statement "I love ballet" is almost anecdotal within the dance community. Such words are often spoken by ballet school students when asked why they chose ballet education, while feeling the oppressive gaze of their ballet teacher upon them.
Four dancers and independent dance artists who graduated from ballet school but abandoned ballet in favor of other dance forms take a fresh look at ballet. They reflect on what still attracts them to this discipline, what repels them, and what traces of their ballet training remain in their bodies and lives today.
Twenty years after the end of their ballet journey, Aleksandra Borys, Karolina Kraczkowska, Ramona Nagabczyńska, and Iza Szostak have gained the critical distance needed to perceive the "text" of ballet. And as it turns out, this "text" is incredibly rich. Both the explicitly expressed ballet librettos and the narratives hidden behind the scenes can be endlessly analyzed as ideological machines.

ROLLERCOASTER is a contemporary dance presentation program carried out by Cricoteka and Krakow Dance Theatre. Over the past 8 years, Rollercoaster has gathered thousands of spectators and featured more than 100 events! In addition to Polish and international dance performances, the program has included lectures, workshops, artistic residencies, film screenings, and exhibitions.
"Louder!" is the theme of this year's edition. It highlights the social and political power of choreography. Dance becomes a tool for expressing positions, emotions, and diagnoses of reality. We will explore what speaks the loudest and how it responds to the tensions of the present. This year's Rollercoaster opens up a space for debate and for a shared, collective experience of art.
