During an author-led tour of the exhibition, Prof. Krzysztof Heyke and Prof. Maria Gabryś-Heyke will talk about the inspirations that led them to the legendary Kingdom of Mustang and the Dolpo region in the Himalayas.
The exhibition is a photographic story about water – a life-giving and destructive element – and about a world functioning to the rhythm set by the seasons.
About the exhibition: The journey “With an Umbrella through the Himalayas” is participation in disrupted cycles of nature. The guiding motif of the photographic story is water – the life-giving gift of nature and a destructive force. Monsoon rains that strike Himalayan valleys unexpectedly arrive during harvest this time, threatening the inhabitants' livelihoods.
Most of the works included in the exhibition were created using biodegradable materials. Own technique.
