It's already a tradition – for eighteen years, the Association for Helping Patients with Sarcomas and Melanomas Sarcoma has been organizing Onkobieg, an event promoting health, cancer prevention, and solidarity with people affected by cancer. 🏃♂️ The 18th edition of Onkobieg will kick off on September 14. On this day, participants – both those on-site and those participating virtually – will have 60 minutes to cover any number of kilometers. Registration at https://onkobieg.pl started on May 22 and will continue until the packages are exhausted. 📍 The main run – the heart of the event – will once again take place at the National Oncology Institute in Warsaw, the place where it all began and which symbolically underscores the mission of the entire initiative. A special outdoor studio will be set up there, where live coverage of participants' emotions, conversations with doctors, specialists, and patients will be broadcast. The goal is not only sports competition but above all education and mobilization of society in the field of cancer prevention and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. 📅 Once again, accompanying runs are also being organized: - In Starachowice, hosted by the County Health Care Facility. - In Szczodre, in cooperation with the Lower Silesian Oncology Center. All three runs will start at 11:00 AM and last for 60 minutes. For those who cannot participate in the stationary runs, the organizers have prepared a virtual run option. Participants can run in any location of their choice – regardless of the location, the shared idea and commitment matter. To participate in the event in this format, one must complete the declared distance during a one-hour physical activity between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM. This flexible solution allows anyone who wants to support the initiative and promote health prevention to join the action – regardless of their place of residence.
