    About the event

🎭 November 23 at 7:00 PM 🎭 November 26 at 7:00 PM We invite you to two premiere performances of OPERETKA by the Incidental Grochów Grochów Troupe, which has been active at Teatr Akt since 2015. In working on the play, we will focus on the problem of the crisis of civilization, its values, and the definition of these "operetta-distorted" values. Gombrowicz's drama OPERETKA is an analysis and at the same time a theatrical genesis of aggression, which arises in the course of history from helplessness in the face of violence and social abuse. Aggression is always directed at oneself, and as a result, man becomes his own greatest enemy. The chance to reject the mask of hypocrisy in a blind, rotten society is once again found in pure and innocent youth, symbolized by the author's defenseless and fragile nudity. In working on the play, we need to delve once again into the search for stage truth through workshop analysis in the field of dramatic acting (work on word and text), singing, dancing, melorecitation, work with mask and gesture characteristic of the operetta form. The life drive and death drive according to Freud push us toward life and everything constructive, but also toward death and destruction, which may seem to be the cause of all real but "operetta" revolutions. The Incidental Grochów Grochów Group operates at Teatr Akt as part of the Grochów Grochów educational program co-financed by the City of Warsaw.
