WHAT? The first event of the Ferment collective in the form of a performative evening! ✨ WHEN? 30.11.2025 🕡 WHAT TIME? 18:30 📍 WHERE? Solatorium, Jazdów 3/9 in Warsaw 💸 HOW MUCH? Free! There will be a jar on site where you can contribute something as a thank you to Solatorium for providing the space, which we encourage you to do. Emptiness doesn't have to be a lack. Today, it is rather a scarce commodity. It's a moment, a pause when there is nothing; a space where anything can happen at any moment. Or maybe nothing will happen at all. We experience excess every day—it has become man's best friend. We are so used to it, used to overstimulation and overload, that we fear what is free from it. We run away, filling our days and ourselves from morning till night. We don't stare at the wall. We don't sit in silence. And when emptiness imposes itself on us, we don't know what to do with ourselves. We call it "awkward," "uncomfortable," or "strange." Sometimes excess freezes us. When only our imagination limits us, we realize we've lost the sense of what we truly desire. We wander among endless possibilities and can't hear our own thoughts. Every possible form of distraction is available: social media, stimulants, always-playing music, food, constant contact with others, world news, images of war, computer games, always-accessible Chat-GPT. Sometimes we hear our longing for emptiness, but immersing ourselves in it means meeting not only relief but also what is unpleasant and dark. It's not easy to listen to thoughts we've long suppressed. Maybe this longing leads us to a yoga retreat or a meditation retreat. Or maybe silence and nothingness don't have to be paid for. Let's try to see if they're waiting for us somewhere hidden, on the edge of our everyday lives. What is on the other side of excess? When we log out of Instagram, hit pause on Spotify, fall silent, is there still something waiting for us? What thoughts haven't been spoken aloud? What does silence and darkness sound like? How does a person feel in nothingness? What will happen when nothing happens? We want to search for what is unspoken, hidden, empty; to see where we end up after closing the gates and choosing none of the possibilities. Where will awkward silence and unanswered questions lead us? — We invite you to a performative evening during which we will present 5 performances focused on the theme of emptiness and excess, and later invite the audience to dialogue with them. After the event, you can take a zine home with you. Although we encourage participation in both parts, it's not required, so you can slip away during the break if you wish. We encourage you to bring something for the shared table to make our conversations in the second part of the evening more enjoyable!
