Would you like to get practical experience with the watercolor technique, often considered difficult, and with the materials and tools used by watercolorists? Or perhaps you already have your first steps with watercolor behind you? Regardless of your experience, come and summon spring with us by painting a floral watercolor picture.
We welcome both beginners and those for whom pencil and brush are familiar.
After a brief theoretical introduction and a presentation of reproductions of works by the most outstanding Polish watercolorists, the instructor will give a demonstration of painting a sketch of spring flowers in watercolor. Then each participant will proceed to their own creative work. For the less bold, a reproduced pencil sketch in several motifs will be available to choose from.
All painting materials will be available on site.
The event is a neighborhood initiative, organized thanks to the kindness of Aleksandra Kołątaj.
Aleksandra Kołątaj – a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art. Since 1998 she has worked at the National Library in the Institute of Conservation of Library Collections, where she deals with the preventive conservation of manuscripts, maps, prints and early printed books. She has made many commissioned copies of priceless written monuments on paper and parchment, used to replace originals during exhibitions by many cultural institutions. Artistically, she pursues painting watercolor landscapes en plein air and oil paintings inspired by Dutch painting. She has held two solo watercolor exhibitions and created illustrations for books and magazines.
For adults and youth 14+.
Due to high interest and a limited number of places, in March we invite participation in a maximum of two events requiring registration. Registration is required.
