dälek has been redefining the boundaries of hip-hop for over two decades – combining noise, shoegaze and political commitment into an entirely singular sound. Known for dense atmosphere, heavy beats and uncompromising lyricism, MC dälek (lyrics and production) and Mike Mare (production) have built a legacy rooted in experimentation, truth and raw emotion.

In 2026 dälek returns to the core of their art with the new album "Brilliance Of A Falling Moon" (Ipecac Recorings) – a project that shows a return to essence. Stripped of excess form, the album conveys the roughness and immediacy of their earliest recordings, while also evolving the sound. Built around an MPC 3000 amp, processed guitars and the tangible chemistry between dälek and Mare, this new material is a study in purpose and precision. Every sound, texture and rhythm serves the composition – no surplus, no fillers, only intent.
Created together in the studio, the duo intertwines in the creative process: layers of distortion, drones and rhythm sculpt the landscape, and dälek’s voice cuts through with clarity and force. The result is a body of work that is simultaneously minimalist and massive – a return to fundamentals without nostalgia, where the raw energy of hip-hop meets avant-garde sound design.
Entering this new chapter, dälek still embodies what they always have: unbridled sincerity, depth of sound and a revolutionary spirit – proving once again that the essence of their music is not complexity but conviction.
