EABS, one of the most important Polish groups of the new wave of Polish jazz in recent years, returns to Warsaw! They will perform as part of the 9th edition of the Festival from Bikiniarze to Hipsters. Honored with awards from readers and critics of Jazz Forum ("best electric group of the year"), nominations for Fryderyks, Polityka's Passports, and enthusiastic recommendations from the world's most important jazz magazines. The band returns to play in The Very Best Of format. We will hear selected material from their diverse discography. EABS, or Electro-Acoustic Beat Session, is a quintet appreciated by critics and listeners, regularly touring the world. The band is associated with the outstanding label Astigmatic Records, which features releases from artists such as Tomasz Stańko. Since 2012, they have been working on the concept of "reconstruction from deconstruction," often redefining classics from decades ago by colliding them with the latest genres of contemporary urban music, creating a completely new quality and original sound. The band gained international recognition thanks to the albums "Repetitions (Letters to Krzysztof Komeda)" and "Slavic Spirits." Both releases combine modern rhythms with the rich history of Polish jazz. Their latest albums – "Discipline of Sun Ra," "In Search of a Better Tomorrow" (The Guardian included this release in its The Best Global Albums of 2023), and the band's sixth album "Reflections of Purple Sun" from 2024, are a unique return to the roots of Polish jazz. ------------------------------------------------------------- The Festival from Bikiniarze to Hipsters is an interdisciplinary artistic event presenting the most important trends of Polish counterculture of the 20th century.
