PJATK Rapid 2026 – chess tournament
(PL) The Data Science Club PJATK warmly invites students, staff, and alumni to the second edition of the PJATK Rapid 2026 chess tournament. The event is for experienced competitors and recreational players who want to test themselves at the board.
- Tournament format
- System: Swiss system, 8 rounds
- Time control: 10 minutes + 0 seconds per player (Rapid)

- 09:00 – 10:00 | Participant check-in
- 10:00 – 10:30 | Official opening and technical briefing
- 10:30 – 12:30 | Competitive session I (Rounds 1-4)
- 12:30 – 14:00 | Networking break: themed lectures, knowledge quiz (Kahoot), free time
- 14:00 – 16:00 | Competitive session II (Rounds 5-8)
- 16:00 – 16:30 | Awards ceremony and tournament closing
- 16:40 – 17:30 | Final lecture: The History of Stockfish

- The evolution of chess engines – Jakub Melzacki (Chair of DSC): differences in engine architectures (Stockfish vs Leela Chess Zero)
- The world of professional chess – FM Mateusz Bronowicki: realities of top-level competition and leading grandmasters
- The history of the Stockfish project – closing lecture (after the awards ceremony)
