Inspired by 1980s British post‑punk, the Belarusian duo Nürnberg will play three shows in Poland! Their music, soaked in the depression of post‑Soviet cities and existentialism, will be heard on 17 February in Poznań, 18 February in Warsaw and 19 February in Wrocław.
Nürnberg is a post‑punk duo formed in 2016 in Minsk. The band say their work is inspired by the depression of post‑Soviet cities, existentialism, social problems in the modern world and pervasive fatigue. In their songs they do not reject the basic feelings that make us more human — the capacity for love and compassion.
Since August 2017 they have released three full‑length albums, drawing from coldwave and British post‑punk from the very beginning. The most talked‑about release was last year’s "Adkaz", created in collaboration with Raman Kamahorcaŭ (Molchat Doma). That record shows how well the band handles post‑punk material, significantly expanding it with resonant melodies and emotionally charged vocals. These melancholic sounds, originating in post‑Soviet urban landscapes, together with the band’s unique identity, will take over Polish cities this February!
At all three concerts in Poland Nürnberg will be accompanied by Swiss act Future Faces. The Geneva band grew out of the local DIY scene and combines the energy of 1980s post‑punk with the chill of contemporary cold wave. They have two albums to their name, the latest, "Memoria", released in November 2024.
