    About the event

Saks & Jarmoszewicz / exhibition opening 📅 27.09 / Saturday / 19:00 📍 Bazarek pod Halą Marymoncką / pavilion number 27 Free entry Ida's paintings disarm the body of archetypes, Agnieszka's glass condenses light and memory. This is not a show – it is an intense intervention into the material of the place and its hidden traces. --- Ida Jarmoszewicz Visual artist. Works at the intersection of psychological theory and the experience of complex internal states. In her practice, Ida Jarmoszewicz focuses on exploring what happens between the model and the experience, between theory and the body. She is interested in psychic projections, obsessive thoughts, defense mechanisms – and the ways in which they translate into the language of the individual and the collective. Her works – on the border of painting, drawing, video, and objects – often function as graphs of internal tensions. They operate between the world of concepts and the world of internal events, between emotional abstraction and precise, almost analytical form. The artist creates unique psychological infographics, where theoretical frameworks collide with individual and social experiences. She examines to what extent theory – even the most coherent one – can capture the nuances of consciousness, memory, and emotions. She is interested in the limits of description, moments of fragmentation, and how 'internal logic' formats perceived reality – personal and collective. Jarmoszewicz often uses materials burdened with history – vintage fabrics, furniture, found objects – utilizing them as carriers of sensed, untold narratives embedded in the structure of objects. Her work maintains a figurative starting point but consistently moves toward abstraction and working with symbols. She graduated from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and later Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, where she received a diploma with distinction. Currently associated with Żoliborski Dom Kultury, where she conducts painting and drawing classes, and with the Academy of Special Education, where she teaches contemporary art practice and theory. Agnieszka Saks Visual and olfactory artist. Works with what has been abandoned – and what refuses to be forgotten. In her practice, Agnieszka Saks treats glass as the skin of the world – fragile, transparent, stretched between light and shadow. She creates objects from reclaimed panes and mirrors, often sourced from apartments of the deceased. She works in the Tiffany technique, using it as a ritual of resistance, not decoration. Her works – reliquaries, monstrances, votives – are not for display but for evocation: traumas, traces, micro-spirits of everyday life. A trained graphic artist (European Academy of Arts), she has worked for years at the intersection of institutions and autonomy – realizing artistic-ecological projects, conducting original workshops in visual arts, and more recently, olfactory memory laboratories. She conducts these in cultural institutions, creating situations where scent becomes a tool for emotional insight. Co-author of three original scents created with Aleksandra Waliszewska. Two of them were presented at Galeria LETO and during NADA Villa Warsaw 2024 and 2025. The third – inspired by the scent of a cemetery – will premiere in October 2025. Some of the scents will be presented in autumn 2025 at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. Saks often collaborates with painter Ida Jarmoszewicz. Their joint projects are transdisciplinary forms of resistance and presence – combining image, light, scent, and found matter. In these, space becomes a carrier not of narrative but of spiritual tension. She does not speak directly. Rather, she creates conditions in which one can feel. She does not reconstruct memory – but allows it to inhabit matter. She does not manifest – but every work is a gesture of restoring sanctity to the invisible.
