Basia Stępniak-Wilk, a recital of original songs at Piwnica pod Baranami

She entertains, makes people laugh, and moves them; her way of singing and connecting with the audience leaves listeners in a joyful mood. Additionally, her distinctive repertoire — original songs known from the charts ("Bombonierka" - a duet with Grzegorz Turnau, "Słodka chwila zmian", "Wiośnie nie"), awarded at major Polish competitions and festivals, are well written and surprising with their plots and punchlines. Excellent instrumentalists and unconventional arrangements (piano, bassoon, EWI, cajon) are another asset of Basia Stępniak-Wilk's recitals, which are not only encounters with high-level art but also moments of relaxation in today's anxious world.

Basia Stępniak-Wilk, a singing songwriter from Kraków, was honored with the title Master of Polish Speech in 2025; she is a laureate of, among others, 1st place and the W. Bellon Award at the Student Song Festival in Kraków, the Grand Prix named after J. Kofta at the Nationwide Review of Author's Song OPPA in Warsaw, and for her overall artistic achievements she received the J. Kaczmarski Chapter Award. Her children's book "Tulisia" received the prize of the prestigious A. Lindgren Competition, organized by the ABC XXI Whole Poland Reads to Children Foundation. "Silver Tuning Fork" is the award Basia received in autumn 2024 for the premiere song presented at the IV Festival of Polish Song "Crystal Tuning Fork" in Warsaw. The artist's output includes original albums (e.g. CD O obrotach, CD Słodka chwila zmian, CD Obce kraje, CD Przywidzenia), also holiday records - CD Trwaj chwilo niebieska and CD Piosnek krzynkę pod choinkę as well as poetry collections (in 2018 the book "Ponad ziemią" was released with a CD on which Basia's poems are interpreted by, among others, A. Dymna, J. Nowicki and M. Bałata), she runs regular meetings with poetry and song at the Nowa Huta Cultural Centre, and also promotes literary song in the weekly show "Muzyczna bombonierka" on Radio Kraków. Basia Stępniak-Wilk belongs to the Loch Camelot Theatre ensemble, and Piwnica pod Baranami regularly invites her to give recitals.
