Obedience is a sport where precision matters, but it certainly doesn't have to mean pressure. I want these workshops to encourage people who hesitate whether the sport is for them — to try it, or perhaps fall in love with Obedience. The workshops are intended for everyone — both for people who want to try and for those training at any level. During individual sessions we will focus on technical aspects of sport obedience — on fundamentals and complete exercises, but in a way based on relationship and good fun. We will focus on building high-quality behaviors while taking care of motivation, without conflicts. We build a dog that understands the task and wants to perform it.
Each day there are 2 individual 20-minute sessions and a group entry of about 25 minutes.
Registration: Zapisy
The workshops will take place on the Dream Dog school field in Ursynów — we work outdoors regardless of weather.
The workshops are led by Patrycja Sztukarewska.
About me: I currently train with a border collie bitch, Shine (we compete in class 3) and with an amstaff Jayka. My adventure with dogs began in 2005, when I started attending shows with my oldest dog. The “dog” life gradually drew me in — at first by deepening cynological knowledge at shows, which with the next dog stopped being enough for me. I completed trainer courses and began working in the profession, continuously furthering my education at many seminars (training, handling, first aid, behaviour). During this time I also discovered the most wonderful dog sport — obedience. With my third dog, an amstaff bitch Dream, we started training this sport. And I was hooked — I can no longer imagine life without obedience. I began internships under Magdalena Łęczycka, learning the secrets of the sport. I started competing with Dream (we earned the title of Polish Obedience Champion class 1). Dream is also the first amstaff in Poland to receive permission to compete in class 3. Our greatest successes include reaching the final in class 2 as the only non-shepherd at the international Joop the Reus Cup in Belgium 2016, where we also received special awards, and winning the Slovak Championships 2016 in class 2. For years I have deepened my sporting knowledge by attending seminars with trainers and competitors from all over Europe — including Anna Herzog, Christa Enqvist, Pekka Korri, Lotte Nordli, Siv Svensen, Valentina Balli, Michelle Holmlund, Joanna Hewelt. I am currently also interested in the topic of the dog's emotions in Obedience training and I am exploring this topic with Jagoda Wejchan. In the meantime I became fascinated with caring for the dog's health and fitness — after several seminars on exercises with dogs on rehabilitation balls and a series of lectures on rehabilitation and physiotherapy I completed the Fit Paws instructor course and a massage course, and later the Small Animal Zoophysiotherapy Studies. When a fitness instructor course under Paula Gumińska appeared — I also completed that course (plus level 2 sports dogs). Outside of obedience training, I therefore attach great importance to building fitness, ensuring warm-up before training and calming down after, strengthening muscles and injury prevention. My private hobby is also dog nutrition. I also greatly enjoy Dogfrisbee training privately.
