About the event

Do you want to start exploring nosework and see how your dog works with their nose?

Or maybe you’re already training but have stalled at some stage and don’t know how to move forward or are struggling with something?

We invite you to introductory workshops for beginner teams and individual trainings for intermediate and advanced teams.

Workshops for beginners

Who are the workshops for?

  • for handlers and dogs who have not yet had contact with nosework
  • for people who want to teach their dog scent work in a calm and understandable way
  • for teams looking for an activity that develops the dog intellectually
  • for dogs of all ages — including reactive, sensitive, or those needing calming

Nosework is a sport that:

  • builds the dog’s confidence
  • supports concentration and independence
  • teaches team communication between dog and handler
  • is practically accessible to almost any dog
  • gives the dog a sense of being cared for, satisfaction from work, and healthy tiredness

How will the workshops look?

Introductory lecture for participants:

  • what nosework is
  • how to start working with a dog
  • how to motivate the dog
  • how to create and store scent samples
  • how to support the dog in scent work without applying pressure

Group sessions (morning and evening — divided into groups):

  • introducing the scent
  • step-by-step training plan
  • teamwork
  • observing dogs and learning to read their behaviors

Teams will work:

  • on a Kong (provided by the organizer)
  • on their own scents (after prior consultation and declaring the type of scent)
  • on scents prepared by the organizers (e.g., scents used in competitions: cinnamon, orange, clove — natural or oils, chosen by participants)
