Dear Kontaktowicze and lovers of offbeat, atmospheric sounds — we warmly invite you to the long-awaited debut of the band/project Monstera.
Date and time: 19 April 2026, 18:00–19:15
Place: Rozdroże, Kraków
Monstera is a musical line-up made up of Alicja, Filip and two Rafałs. The music ranges between off music, soft rock, pop rock and alternative pop; there is also a hint of folk.
During this sonic journey you will experience music that is sometimes calm and melancholic, sometimes reflective; you will also encounter sensual sounds, at times joyful and explosive, but also warmly enveloping. A moody, flowing, lyrical, atmospheric vibe straight from Kraków’s Rozdroże. Ten original songs. Ten different stories. We are curious which one will feel closest to you. ♡
Musicians:
- Alicja Miszczor — founder of Monstera; author of lyrics and music, vocalist. For the first time, instead of improvising she brings her own songs, so this concert is an experiment for her and an attempt to step beyond improvisation. She has been writing since she was 13. In everyday life: coach and art coach, dance therapist, teacher of dance improvisation and physical theatre; she runs courses in movement composition, contemporary dance and therapeutic dance in Kraków (Kontakt). Ala is creativity, sensitivity, honesty and dynamism — sometimes water, sometimes fire.
- Rafał Habel-Bloodgood — a Wrocław-based musician who reaches for traditional instruments, with a particular fondness for the Lithuanian birbynė. His practice focuses on using music within art and theatre, where sound plays a structural and dramaturgical role. For him, improvisation is a tool for dialogue, attentive listening and creating form in time.
- Rafał Pawluk — plays guitar; he prefers to speak through sound, because he uses words sparingly. By nature a precise mind, though not constricted. He likes when a note fits and a chord makes sense, but he willingly steps into the unknown, beyond numbers and patterns. If there is silence between pieces, it is not stage fright — it’s Rafał.
- Filip Bujnowski — loves rhythm, drumming, travel and adventures; he tries to combine these into a beautiful whole. He brings not only rhythmic structure but also a smile. Usually a drummer, in Monstera — a percussionist.
After the concert: Panta Rei — a dance party with world music. Stay with us for dancing.
Admission: traditional “bricks” — remuneration for the musicians is dropped into the black hat.
