    About the event

Yuki's grandparents met in Warsaw in the 1970s. Her grandfather Takao came from Japan for the Chopin Competition – her grandmother, then an eighteen-year-old in love with music, lost her head for him. They communicated by pointing to specific words in a Japanese-Polish dictionary, took long walks, and October was exceptionally beautiful that year. At the end of his stay, in broken Polish, Takao promised that when he returned the following year, he would be a worthy candidate for Maria's husband. And as he promised, so he did. Yuki, like every teenager, is lost. Her whole life she has lived torn between Osaka, her birthplace, and Warsaw, where her grandmother is from and to which she returned with her mother just before starting her final year of high school. In Japan, the girl felt like a square peg trying to fit into a round hole; in Poland, she is surprised at how easily she blends into the crowd. In an attempt to make Warsaw her own and put down roots, Yuki embarks on a journey following her grandmother's stories, scents, and imaginings. Will she manage to find the connection she so desperately seeks? The event is aimed at high school youth. The play was created based on interviews conducted with seniors from Śródmieście. ------------------ ✨ Premiere: 21.10.25 19:00 at Teatr Potem-o-tem ✨ Next shows: - Wednesday, October 22 at 11:00 and 13:00 at Teatr Potem-o-tem - Monday, October 27 at 19:00 at Scena na Smolnej - Wednesday, October 29 at 11:00 at Dom w Alejach ⏰ The performative reading is planned for 45 minutes, and participation is free. 📧 Please reserve your seats by sending an email (include name, surname, date of performance, and number of tickets) to: [email protected] ------------------ Text and Direction: Greta Oto Music: Michał Lazar Producer: Maria A.
