About the event

Alina Szapocznikow 📅 18.09.2025 – 9.03.2026 Opening of the exhibition as part of the WGW+ section 🔗 https://warsawgalleryweekend.pl/wgw-plus?wgw=1 📅 19–21.09.2025 ⏰ Opening hours: 11:00–19:00 "Vowel" and "Consonant" – two sculptures from 1962 – serve as the starting point for a narrative about language, memory, and corporeality in the art of Alina Szapocznikow. The artist experimented with bronze and stone, seeking a form for her experiences that speaks through the body. In the stone structure, she recorded what is organic, fragile, yet full of strength. The exhibition at the Heritage Gallery of the POLIN Museum is an intimate meditation on survival – of the individual and of matter. The presented sculptures and accompanying films create a space for reflection on how art can speak where words fail. The event takes place as part of Warsaw Gallery Weekend 2025.
