On the last Thursday of the month, at the PraRzemka Craft Workshop in the Museum of Warsaw's Praga district, we will open a local repair shop for four hours. Starting in March! Why are we organizing a leather repair point? We are inspired by the tradition of leather and saddlery workshops that used to provide repair services in Praga. Unfortunately, most of them have closed, leaving residents without the option to repair broken backpacks, leashes, or belts, or forcing them to travel to other districts for repairs. We are also inspired by repair cafés, grassroots initiatives focused on various types of repairs. Therefore, our workshops will also serve as a neighborhood meeting point, where people waiting in line can enjoy coffee or tea. What can you do during the workshops? - Bring a broken or damaged leather item, and together we will figure out how to save it. - These workshops will focus on repairing bags, backpacks, cosmetic cases, wallets, and other items made of leather or leather-like materials. - Here, you can punch an extra hole in a belt, attach rivets or snaps, or even sew in a new zipper for a fanny pack or pencil case. - You will perform the repairs yourself after receiving instructions, necessary tools, and materials. For more complex tasks, our master craftswoman Renata Dmowska will handle the repairs. Note: - Do not bring shoes or clothing – these repairs are handled by other craftsmen, such as cobblers and tailors. 📅 WORKSHOP DATES: - August 28 (Thursday), 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM - September 25 (Thursday), 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM - October 30 (Thursday), 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM - November 27 (Thursday), 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM How to register?
