On Wednesday, 11 March 2026 at 5:30 PM at Lending Library No. 71 we will host Halina Rowicka-Kalczyńska — an outstanding film, theatre and television actress, known for roles including Ewa Talar in the series “Dom”.
We will talk about her artistic path, favourite roles, important professional encounters, and also ask about home and dreams.

A few facts about Halina Rowicka-Kalczyńska:
- Just before graduating from the State Higher School of Theatre in Warsaw she performed in Wojciech Młynarski’s diploma production "Bo takie mamy życie...", directed by Kazimierz Rudzki (1973).
- Stage debut: the role of Ismene in Sophocles’ tragedy "Antigone" (1973) directed by Adam Hanuszkiewicz at the National Theatre; associated with the National Theatre from 1973–1985. She later also performed in Warsaw theatres: Nowy (1986–1992) and Ochota (1988, 2001).
- Film debut: as Second Lieutenant Emilia Horak in Andrzej Konic’s war drama "W te dni przedwiosenne" (1975).
- Television: she won the sympathy of the youngest audience appearing in Television Theatre in the cycle of baroque fairy tales "Bajki pana Perrault" (1974) as Little Red Riding Hood, the Sleeping Princess, Cinderella and the princess in the production "Puss in Boots". From 1982–2000 she played the heroine of the series "Dom" – Ewa Talar.
