    Speaker: mgr Monika Aleksy-Polipowska



    • 28 years of nursing experience, with particular emphasis on palliative care, long-term care, wound treatment and treatment of cancer-related ulcers.
    • Head nurse in the Palliative Medicine Department at St. Kamil Hospital in Tarnowskie Góry, with experience in team management and care for patients requiring specialized procedures.
    • Educator and mentor – university lecturer at the Małopolska State College named after Witold Pilecki in Oświęcim; lecturer of specialization courses, supervisor of internships and professional practice for nurses.
    • Author of articles and speaker at conferences on nursing and wound treatment (EWMA: Kraków, London, Barcelona).
    • Co-author of the consensus "Treatment of nipple wounds during breastfeeding"; currently working on a consensus concerning cancer-related ulcers in patients under palliative care.
    • Member of the Polish Wound Treatment Society.

    4. Wound management consistent with current knowledge and applicable standards, in the era of antibiotic resistance
      • discussion of the role of lavage agents and antiseptics and therapies — mainly specialized dressings
    5. The importance of documentation
    6. Workshop part — discussion of selected wounds; we encourage participants to send photos of wounds from their practice for discussion.
