A new ZOUK course starting completely from the basics! Zouk (pronounced "zook") is a light, sensual partner dance that originates from Brazilian lambada. You can improvise, dance to various music, and even completely lose yourself in it. In our classes, we focus above all on feeling good in dance, communicating with your partner, and focusing on touch, not just learning complicated figures. We teach a dance that flows "from the body," with attention to the other person and their boundaries, as well as self-awareness. Such a dance brings a lot of joy, even when you're just starting your adventure with it! You don't need any experience – just openness to movement and having fun! What else awaits you in the course? - non-standard warm-up - Zouk material prepared by us at the basic level - games/exercises in contact improvisation, partnering, to better get to know yourself and your dance partner - body movement (body isolations) - exercises to help you feel 'connection' with your partner in dance, while taking care of your own boundaries - conversation, rest, and great fun - consent! You don't have to come with a partner (but you can)! Who are these classes for? For everyone!
