Legendary punk rockers and godfathers of the Manchester scene, Buzzcocks, will celebrate their 50th anniversary next year and on that occasion the iconic group will play 3 concerts in Poland: March 1 at Klub Kwadrat in Kraków, the following day at Proxima in Warsaw and March 4 at Klub Kosmos in Szczecin. In all cities the Warsaw-based outfit Moron’s Morons will perform as support.
Buzzcocks formed in 1976 and quickly became, alongside the Sex Pistols and The Clash, a foundation of British punk rock. The debut EP “Spiral Scratch” opened the way for independent releases, and subsequent albums, “Another Music in a Different Kitchen”, “Love Bites” and “A Different Kind of Tension” earned them the status of one of the era’s most important creators. Hits like “Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve)”, “Promises” and “Harmony in My Head” became anthems for a generation. After reuniting in the late ’80s the band recorded further albums and remain in excellent live form — early March will be a chance to check that, and the group will also perform material from their new record “Attitude Adjustment”.
Warsaw’s Moron’s Morons draw from the garage sounds of the ’60s and ’70s, mixing punk rawness with rock'n'roll hooks. They have toured across Europe, the USA and Japan; after a short hiatus they returned with a fresh voice.
