Book Swap Party + Bookbinding Workshops
Bring books you’ve already read and want to pass on — take new reads in return! Rule: take as many as you bring.
…but if you find a true treasure you must have — take one or two more. Please be fair and considerate toward other readers.
Only books in good condition — no textbooks or heavily damaged books!
During the Book Swap Party we invite you to free bookbinding workshops run by the Phosphoros Foundation and Łukasz Suszek — antiquarian, bookbinder, publisher and founder of the foundation with many years of experience in the world of books and craft.
Workshop times:
- 11:30 – first session
- 14:00 – second session
What will happen?
- Basics of bookbinding — book structure, tools, history of the craft
- Making a simple notebook/sketchbook by yourself (or with parental help)
- Getting to know basic bookbinding tools
- Books about books, craft and the art of the book to view and inspire
Why attend? Manual work is a real reset for the brain! It activates the right hemisphere (creativity + emotions), raises happiness hormones, improves concentration, motor skills, confidence and self-esteem. It’s a great way to express aesthetics, unlock talents and simply enjoy creative relaxation in a friendly atmosphere. During the workshops we exchange ideas, support each other and build connections.
