Change of event time, we start at 6 PM at U-jazdowski cinema. You are warmly invited to the screening of the science fiction documentary film "Are You Here?", which will take place on September 24 at 6:00 PM at U-jazdowski Cinema. If you haven't had the chance to see this film yet, this is a great moment to watch it on the big screen. I encourage you to participate in the screening at the cinema – only in such a space can you fully experience the immersion of the image, sound, and music in this film. We worked meticulously on each of these elements. Through the prism of conversations between the film's protagonist – a blind DJ, a cult figure in Krakow's club scene – and a voice assistant AI, the film takes the viewer on an existential journey of a man who has lost his sight. His reality is plunged into darkness, illuminated only by the LED glow of artificial intelligence. AI accompanies Edward almost every step of the way – helping, advising, and commenting on even the most dramatic events of his life. From these conversations, disturbing visions of the future emerge, related to the relationship between humans and machines. After the screening, there will be a discussion as part of the {Live} series, during which I will talk about my research related to my doctoral work at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. "Foreign Feathers" is a research project carried out within the doctoral school at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, under the supervision and immense support of Dr. Jakub Wróblewski. The project is dedicated to decolonial practices in the context of Native Americans and First Nations. The central figure of my research is Stanisław Supłatowicz, known as "The Polish Indian" or Sat-Okh (Long Feather). I myself call him the PRL-era Don Quixote. As part of the project, I conducted field research, including in the "Indian village" Hocioka and during the gathering of Polish Indian enthusiasts in Uniejów. At the exhibition in the Galicia Jewish Museum, I presented the film "Arrow," created in collaboration with the Polish Indianist community. One of the main roles was played by Małgorzata Gorol, and the narration voice was provided by Jakub Wieczorek, known, among others, from the Polish version of the series BoJack Horseman. Starting from the phenomenon on the border of simulacrum, which is the fascinating community of Polish Indianists, I followed the symbolically shot "arrow" to the United States, where, thanks to a scholarship from the Razem Pamoja Foundation, I spent two months. Establishing relationships with the Sioux community in the reservation by the Missouri River, near Fort Yates in North Dakota, I confronted the decolonial tension between the simulacrum and its original. I am immensely grateful to the organizers and the entire staff of CSW in Warsaw for the opportunity to present such a broad spectrum of my work in one day! Welcome! Admission is free for both events.
