Small Art Residency MIK
Kordegarda of the Mazovian Institute of Culture, ul. Elektoralna 12, Warsaw
Free entry.
Since July 2024, the Small Art Residency has been operating at the Mazovian Institute of Culture — a residency project for invited young artists that aims to provide emerging creators with conditions for free creative work and to create opportunities for direct contact with audiences.
You are invited to visit on the following days:
Entrance: through the left gate of the kordegarda at the Mazovian Institute of Culture building.
During the residency, Marta Miziuk will run a project based on the use of various photographic techniques with a particular emphasis on traditional ones, which — according to the artist — provide a flexibility that digital photography does not. The activities undertaken have the character of an artistic experiment; the resident relies on chance and getting to know the surrounding reality using a camera. She does not set specific themes for herself; she photographs guided by intuition, even if the shots seem seemingly insignificant — she attempts to discover their hidden potential and give them new value. She would like to share with the audience this ability to use and accept reality in troubled times, which — according to the artist — is particularly important.
Marta Miziuk graduated from the Institute of Artistic Education at the Maria Grzegorzewska University of Special Education in Warsaw. Her participation in the Small Art Residency MIK was made possible thanks to the kindness of the university and cooperation with the Mazovian Institute of Culture.
On selected days the Small Art Residency MIK is open to the public. We invite everyone to visit and have individual contact with the project author and to follow information about the progress on social media.
