Small Art Residency MIK
📍 Kordegarda of the Mazovian Institute of Culture, ul. Elektoralna 12
🎟️ free admission
Since July 2024, the Mazovian Institute of Culture has been running the Small Art Residency – a residency project for invited young artists aimed at providing emerging creators with conditions for unhindered creative work and creating opportunities for direct contact with audiences.
Visits are welcome on the following dates:
Entrance through the left gate of the kordegarda at the Mazovian Institute of Culture building.
During the residency, Marta Miziuk will run a project based on the use of various photographic techniques with particular emphasis on traditional ones that provide a flexibility that, according to the artist, digital photography does not offer. The undertaken activities are of the nature of an artistic experiment. The resident relies on chance and on getting to know the surrounding reality using a camera. She does not set specific themes for herself; she photographs guided by intuition, even if the shots seem apparently insignificant – she tries to discover their hidden potential and give them new values. She would like to share with the public this ability to use and accept reality in anxious times, which to the artist seems more justified than ever.
Marta Miziuk graduated from the Institute of Artistic Education at the Maria Grzegorzewska University of Special Pedagogy in Warsaw. Her participation in the MIK Small Art Residency was made possible thanks to the courtesy of the university and cooperation established with the Mazovian Institute of Culture.
On selected days the MIK Small Art Residency is open to the public. We invite everyone to visit and have individual contact with the project author and to follow information about the course on social media.
